Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
As the name suggests the toller originates from Canada, and is a retrieving breed. The breed was developed to lure game with its playful nature and then to retrieve from the water. They are easily distinguished with their eye catching red/orange coat and white markings.
This was a breed that we had come across at many of the shows whilst competing with the LMs and it has very quickly made its mark in the UK. However it wasn't until our eldest child expressed an interest in having his own dog for YKC activities that we learnt a great deal about the breed. We chose the breed due to its size, playful nature and versatility - and we haven't been disappointed.
Tilly came to us in 2008 from the Dinaskarrek kennel in Cornwall and Christopher and Tilly soon became a strong partnership. They qualified for the YKC handling at Crufts the first year that they competed together and both have taken part in most YKC activities.
Tilly then became our foundation bitch, producing some fantastic offspring, and we now have her daughter Eve. Her son Seahaven Galactic Storm at Wulalowe gained his stud book number in 2014, and Eve hers a year later in 2015. They both took their first CCs at the NSDTR Club champ show in 2016, with half sister Tegan (Seahaven Bewitched by Cedarlake) gaining the Reserve CC.
